Brendan Doyle is a senior consultant with thrive and specialises in team-building and facilitation work. His expertise as designer of large team-building interventions has led to him both co-authoring materials and teaching others to do the same. With a background in youth work and adult education, his style is naturally participative. In addition, he has expertise in the use of MBTI® particularly in team settings and in relation to Management Development. Brendan’s primary work with thrive is with clients in the healthcare, financial and telecom sectors.

Marie Cleary MBA, B.A., H. Dip. Ed., C. Dip. A.F., is a process consultant specialising in the design and delivery of strategic management interventions including organisation reviews, strategic planning, team building, leadership and project management support. She consults extensively on programme evaluation, educational research, management training and the development of training networks at National and European levels. Marie's previous experience in the education sector and management of European Union funded programmes provides a competence for working in a variety of settings. Her recent research work includes the development of a process evaluation model which evaluates the benefit of soft skills activity over a medium to long term and a report on Risk and Child Protection Policy and Practice in the European Union.

 

Marie is a qualified user and experienced practitioner of the psychometrics MBTI® and FIRO-B™, having led workshops in both Ireland and Europe. Marie is leader of one of our long-term Management Development Programmes in a number of our private sector client companies and has extensive experience as an executive coach.

Tony Murphy (M.Sc. (Mgmt.), Dip. Ad. & Comm. Ed., C. Dip. FA; MIITD) has worked with thrive for the past four years, having previously served as C.E.O. of the National Youth Federation, one of the largest not-for-profit organisations in Ireland. This work and his previous background in training has meant that he has been a key contributor to Leadership and Management Development programmes provided by thrive. His core expertise is organisational development issues, either enabling organisations to navigate change successfully or in coaching senior managers. His work in thrive has been primarily in the health and telecommunications sectors and he is a qualified MBTI® user.

Bernie Stevenson (MIITD) has been working as a training consultant for the past twenty-five years, initially with FÁS, as an independent consultant and now with thrive. Her key areas of expertise are in service quality, equality and diversity strategies and training, workload management, management training and (Train the Trainer) skills.

 

Bernie has conducted training needs analysis for many organisations and designed training to meet those needs. Clients constantly praise her for both her thoroughness and professionalism and her ability to focus on the exact needs of each group that she works with. In addition, she is a qualified MBTI® user.

Tony Bond is a Senior Consultant for thrive, specialising in career and performance interventions for individuals and management teams to help them reach their full potential.

In working with organisations, Tony provides assessment support for recruitment and selection, development activities, improving sales performance, leadership development and performance management implementation.

Tony supports team performance through dynamics analysis to improve problem-solving, communication and conflict resolution.

With individuals, Tony provides support for career direction and transition and life planning.

A graduate of Aston University Business School, Tony has worked as an internal HR practitioner and external consultant over the last twenty years. Before returning to Ireland, Tony spent eight years in internal HR roles in the UK financial services sector supporting major organisational change before moving to South East Asia to join the global HR consulting firm, Right Management Consultants. Based in their Singapore office, he worked with multi-nationals throughout the Asia Pacific region with major staff reductions arising from mergers and acquisitions.
 
Tony is qualified in Personality Assessment and is a licensed user of a range of assessment tools covering strategic leadership development, personal and career direction and sales performance.

Brian Kelly brings to the team a vast experience in all aspects of managing diverse International organisations.  He has implemented the Balanced Scorecard strategic management process in a number of enterprises and deployed it throughout operations in Europe, Asia and the Americas. His experience includes Sales, Operations, Human Resources, Financial Reporting and Budgeting. He has also successfully led a number of post acquisition integration programs.

Brian Kelly is currently Chairman of Lionbridge International (www.lionbridge.com). Brian became part of the Lionbridge team in the role of Chief Operations Officer - Europe in 2005 with the acquisition of Bowne Global Solutions.  Brian had served as the Senior Vice President of Europe since joining Bowne as part of the Berlitz GlobalNet (BGN) acquisition in 2002. He was Senior Vice President of the European Division of BGN, a position he had held since January 1996. From 1993, he was the General Manager of Berlitz's Translations Services Europe. Prior to Berlitz, Brian served as Managing Director of Softrans International Ltd., an Irish localisation company, which was acquired by Berlitz in 1991. He founded Softrans in 1984, and before that, held senior management positions with Apple Computer and Data.

Ann Flaherty joined thrive in 2005, with over 20 years HR experience with Aer Rianta, now the Dublin Airport Authority.  Having managed both the Recruitment and Selection and L&D functions, she is experienced across the talent management agenda, a chartered member of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), she is ASE/BPS accredited in both level A and B psychometric testing.
Since joining thrive Ann has worked with a range of our clients across all industry sectors.  She was recently appointed to the National Framework Committee for Work-Life Balance panel of consultants.

Anne Feeney, MBA is a highly experienced human resource consultant who has previously held a number of senior management positions in the financial services industry. Anne is skilled in change management, people management and conflict resolution and has a proven record in translating diverse customer needs into successful outcomes. Positive assertiveness, personal warmth and strong people skills are consistent signature themes. Anne holds an International Executive MBA degree from the Smurfit Business School, UCD. She is a qualified business mediator and accredited consultant on globally recognised team development, coaching and leadership effectiveness, psychological and psychometric instruments.

Michael Gavin is an experienced international business consultant having worked with global corporations such as Bowne, Berlitz and Data General. Michael co-founded Softrans International, a specialist software localisation firm in 1985 which became part of Berlitz in 1991. He has a strong IT industry background having started work in the sector in 1975.  Michael most recently worked as a VP of European Sales where he managed business development teams in 16 countries across Europe. Managing the diverse cultural nuances and team dynamics across so many countries is a key challenge that Michael has managed for over 18 years. During this time Michael implemented the Balanced Scorecard on a global basis for both Bowne and Berlitz and found the implementation of such tools a great mechanism for getting strategy implemented, improving individual/corporate performance and getting organisational alignment.  For the past 4 years Michael has been advising and supporting clients in Europe and the USA  with strategic business initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, mentoring and training senior management teams and staff selection. Most recently in thrive Michael was instrumental in the introduction of the SuccessFactors Talent and Goal Management suite into Ireland.

Laoise Ní Chonchubhair (B.A.L., M. Eq. St.) Laoise is a research and management consultant with thrive. Her expertise is in the areas of inter-cultural learning and work-life balance. Previously she has worked in the tourism industry and the voluntary sector in Ireland and with development projects in Zambia. Her key work has enabled hundreds of people from various European countries integrate successfully into Ireland and prepare Irish people for work overseas. In addition, she is a qualified user of psychometric instruments.

Damian Killen is managing director and founder of thrive, an international human resources consultancy based in Dublin, Ireland.  Damian has over twenty years’ experience consulting for top organisations in the public, non-profit and business sectors in Ireland and throughout Europe.  His corporate experience includes work with the finance, telecommunications, manufacturing and service industries.  In addition, he has worked extensively in the fields of adult education and training, as well as serving as Executive Director of a non-profit organisation.

 

An expert in conflict resolution, change management, intercultural learning and team building, Damian has used the MBTI® instrument for more than fifteen years, both as a consultant and as a member of the European Qualifying Programme Faculty.  He has co-authored Introduction to Type® and Conflict and MBTI® Conflict Management Program.  He continues to lead workshops on conflict and the MBTI® throughout the world and is currently developing work on Type and Innovation.
